FAMILIES: Efron and Fadem

Harry Efron (1898-1999), who immigrated to the United States with his parents, Morris Efron (1869-1918) and Ida Surasky Efron (1867-1949), in 1900, moved to Aiken from St. Louis, Missouri by 1921. He operated a liquor store at the corner of East Hayne and B Lane in the Alley and also established H. Efron Taxi Company, which he later sold to his brother, Isadore Efron. He and his wife, Mary Fadem Efron (1902-1974), retired to St. Louis by 1950.
