FAMILIES: Sneg

Moses Sneg (1897-1951) was born in Kreusberg, Latvia. In 1920, he married his wife, Rachel Berkowitz (1900-1977), who was born in Cherkoff, Russia. In 1924, the couple immigrated to the United States and settled in Georgetown, South Carolina. Shortly after immigrating, Sneg established a retail shoe and shoe repair store at 621 Front Street. Sneg operated this store until his death in 1951.
