Abe Cohen (1906-1969) was born in Lithuania and immigrated to the United States with his mother, Sarah (1860-1949), and bother, Benjamin (b. 1901), in 1911. Together, they joined Abe’s father Jonah “Jake” (1866-1956) in Baltimore. Around 1927, Abe moved to Marlboro County where he opened a dry goods store in Clio. He married Betty Mark (1911-1997) in 1933 and continued operating his store until his death in 1969.
