In 1912, Allendale merchant Henry Wolff (1848-1914); his wife, Rachel “Ray” Pearlstine (1871-1936); and his brother-in-law, Thomas Pearlstine (1879-1961), founded the Allendale Buggy & Wagon Co. in Allendale, South Carolina with a capital of $6,000. Allendale Buggy & Wagon Co. worked in tandem with Henry and Rachel’s general merchandise business Henry Wolff & Co., which existed in Allendale from 1885 until 1936.
