Simon “Sam” Aaron Wallace (1878-1925) was born in North Carolina to German immigrant Aaron Wallace (1843-1931) and Columbia, South Carolina native Clara Jacobs Wallace (1856-1926). Wallace operated a dry goods store at 6 West Russell Street in Orangeburg, South Carolina from at least 1918 until around the time of his death in 1925. Before Wallace moved to Orangeburg, he lived in Augusta, Georgia.
