FAMILIES: Krasnoff

Around 1919, Russian immigrant Solomon Krasnoff (1874-1936) opened clothing, shoe, and dry goods store The Battery in Manning, South Carolina. A prospective merchant, Krasnoff also owned stores in Sumter, Sardinia, St. Charles, Summerton, and Bishopville. Russian immigrant Benjamin Komarow (1890-1957) managed the Manning location until he opened dry goods and clothing store The Peoples Store in the same building in 1921.
