After he closed Everybody’s Store, Polish immigrant Morris Ness (1887-1975) opened his own clothier business, The New Idea Co., in 1914. The New Idea Co. remained open until 1922, after which Ness continued to work as a merchant in Manning until he relocated to Denmark, South Carolina in 1924. Ness’s brother, Benjamin (1890-1956), helped run The New Idea Co.
