Wolf (also spelled “Wolfe”) Fass (1866-1895) was born in Galicia, Austria and immigrated to the United States in 1886, arriving in New York City. He subsequently moved to South Carolina. From 1893 to 1894, Wolf worked as a merchant in Charleston. In the late spring or early summer of 1894, Wolf moved to Manning, SC, where he operated a store that sold a wide variety of goods, including clothing, shoes, dry goods, groceries, and crockery. Eighteen months after moving to Manning, Wolf died of tuberculosis.
