In 1920, an article in Orangeburg newspaper The Times and Democrat listed clothier Silver Bros. as one of the town’s Jewish businesses that donated to the creation of a “South Carolina Memorial.”1 Solomon Silver (c.1894-unknown), who came to South Carolina from New York, was likely the primary operator of Silver Bros.
