In 1901, sisters Dora Fass (1871-1903) and Leah Berger (c.1878-undetermined), daughters of Rabbi Israel David Kumchin Berger (1837-1907), opened a millinery store at 539 King Street in Charleston. The store remained in operation until 1904, the year after Dora’s death. Dora’s husband was Charleston and Manning, SC merchant Wolf (also spelled “Wolfe”) Fass (1866-1895).
