Morris Finger (1870-1955) immigrated to the United States from Russia with his parents in 1886. He later married fellow Russian immigrant Sarah Pliskin (1880-1987) and started a family in the Garden City. There, Morris opened a men’s haberdashery store at 20 West Russell Street before moving with his wife and children to Marion to open a general store in the 1910s. Morris and Sarah later continued northward to Lake View where Morris opened a dry goods store.
