On February 14, 1912, a notice appeared in The Manning Times announcing the dissolution of mercantile firm William & Iseman, which operated under the name “The Cresent.” The notice stated that partner Jake Iseman (1887-1931), son of Manning grocer Simon Iseman (1850-1928) and Ellen Levi (1859-1939), would no longer be connected with the firm. George W. Williams (1886-1958), a Gentile, would continue the business and assume all its liabilities and debts.
