FAMILIES: Fass

Israel Isaac Fass (1873-1918) immigrated from Austria to the United States with his family around 1891. Initially, he lived with his parents in Charleston, South Carolina before moving to New York and marrying Frances Wildenberg (b. 1878) in August 1900. Shortly after that, Israel moved to Dillon County where he worked for his brother as a salesman at Morris Fass Department Store. Before 1910, Israel opened his own dry goods store and later operated a furniture shop in Manning. He closed the latter two months before he died in 1918.
