Ideal Furniture Co. was established by Nathan (1913-1998) and Evelyn Steinberg Epstein (1911-1988) in the late 1940s. North Carolinian Nathan and New Jersey native Evelyn married in New York in 1936 and later set down roots in Latta, South Carolina. There, they opened Ideal Furniture Co. where they offered TV antenna installation services and sold both household furniture and appliances. Years later, Nathan and Evelyn opened Village Square on Main Street.
